USA Hasn't Won Anything Yet, Olympic Excitement! (Blog) |

Well, it's time for the medal bracket in the Olympics. Lose one game and your Gold medal dreams will end. It's a lot of pressure and every team is going to have to play great basketball and we wouldn't want it any other way. As a team we know that we haven't done anything but qualify for the medal bracket, that's it. Now we have to finish the job that we started.
This thing is 3 years in the making and we're close, but so far from our goal. Have you ever wanted something so bad and you knew it was a long tough road ahead of you? Seconds turn into mintues and minutes into hours. I've been waiting for this since the World Championships in 2006 and now its here. I'm so excited to get started it's killing me because I want to win that Gold medal so bad and it's still a few days away. This defenitely feels like the playoffs right now, maybe even a little more intense.
So far the Olympics have been amazing. I'm glad just to be here and take in all of the history and the spirit of representing your country. I've met so many people from different parts of the world and even some countries I've never heard of. I've seen a few events and different parts of Beijing. I'll never forget this for as long as I live, especially if we win the Gold!
Until then, I'll be preparing for our next opponent. Let's get it! |

We've Been In China For Over Two Weeks Now (Blog) |
|
Wednesday, 13 August 2008 |
We've been in China for over two weeks now and so far, it's been a great trip. I've experience a lot of new things and cultures that I've never experienced before. We've been playing pretty well in the exhibitions and pool play and nowwe have the chance to redeem ourselves against Greece in a couple days. No one on our team has forgotten about the game they beat us in two years ago so I think it's going to be a great opportunity for us.
I want everyone to know if they ever get a chance to go to the Olympics, whether you're going to be a spectator or an athlete, you should go. It's been amazing! Everything from the Opening Ceremony to the sporting events to the different venues have been a spectacular. This is something special and I really feel that way when I see people stand on that podium to receive their Gold Medal. Every time I watch that, I get chills and I hope that I get that chance too. |

13 Hour Flight, Macao Like Vegas, McDonalds In China! (Blog) |
|
Monday, 28 July 2008 |
We just got to Macao after a 13 hour flight and an hour boat ride with plenty of waiting in between the two. The flight wasn't bad because I slept most of the way. If you ever fly to China, make sure your flight is as late as possible. Like me, you'll get some sleep and it will go by much faster.
The city of Macao is beautiful. They say it's like Las Vegas and to be honest it's kind of close, but there's nothing like Vegas. They have flashing lights and gambling (I don't like gambling anyway), but the building aren't as flamboyant and they really don't have a strip like Las Vegas Blvd.

Reflection On Las Vegas, CB4 And Dwight Go To The Circus? (Blog) |
|
Saturday, 26 July 2008 |
I'm sitting in my room right now looking out of my window down at the strip of Las Vegas. The lights are bright and flashing. I look down at this great view that I have and I start thinking about how this past week has gone. So far it's been great. Practice is very intense and the whole team is getting along pretty well. The Select Team that was brought in has done a great job too. When it's all said and done I think they're roll in getting us ready for the big show. Hopefully they will be recognized for the sacrifice that they made.
The time has actually been passing by pretty fast. Me, Dwight and my girl went to go see a Cirque du Soliel show last night and it was great! I don't know who thinks up the outline and costumes, but they are very creative. Some of the stuff they were doing was amazing! Handstands, flips and all of that acrobatic stuff looks like it took a lot of practice and strength. That's a circus on a whole other level compared to the ones I've seen under the tent. |
