Great News! Fresh Off The Press! I'm Playing Tommorrow! |

Great news! Fresh off the press! I'm playing tommorrow! I've been working out for the past couple of days getting back in shape and my knee has responded pretty well. I'm really excited because I've been waiting for a while now, watching on the bench every game. I'm finally back now!
Another thing I'm excited about is watching my brother play tonight. They didn't win their conference tournament, but they qualified for the NIT. They play Arizona State tonight on ESPN 2 at 11pm eastern so make sure you check it out. My brother's a senior so he's in his final stretch of his collegiate career. I'm very proud of him because he's done an excellent job in the classroom and on the court and he's fought through a lot of criticism from people who expect him to be just like me. That's what I love about him, he always marches to the beat of his own drum. He always leads!
I'm picking the contest winners for the game tckets against the Heat today so everyone stay posted. I've been reading all of the emails and they're some great stuff. I hate I can only pick one. I'll make sure I'll have more contest for game tickets a little later. Ya'll Stay cool!

We're still in San Francisco because we had a day off after playing Golden State last night. We were in the game, but they started making tough shots down the stretch. It's still hard to watch games because I saw so many things that I could have done to help us get a win. I'm starting to get that itch and I want to play pretty bad. I'm still cool so I can be patient and get back hopefully next week.
On a lighter note, I know a few guys at YouTube and Google so I was able to make some time and visit their offices. They have an amazing set up out there. They gave me a tour and I got the chance to talk to a lot of the employees and kind of see what their experience is like.
I met one employee (I won't mention his name for his protection) that told me he heckled me back in my rookie year when we played the Warriors. I don't remember it, but he said he had some seats right behind our bench and started yelling out at me. Nothing personal or offensive was said, but he wanted to fess up and come clean with me when he found out I was coming to visit. We laughed and talked about it. It was kind of funny. All of his co-workers gave him a hard time, but he's a cool guy. Maybe I'll meet some more business people that have heckled me in the past. The YouTube offices have plasma screens and computer set ups everywhere. Some of the people's jobs are to watch YouTube videos and take down all the bad videos. I'm sure it's more complicated than that, but that's pretty much the description in a nutshell. That seems like a pretty cool job. You can get paid for watching YouTube all day! WOW! The only problem is that they told me that it's 150 times harder to get a job at Google than it is to get into Harvard! Are you serious?! And since Google bought YouTube a couple years back, I'm sure you have to get hired by Google, not sure though (I didn't ask that question)? That just shows me you really have to know your stuff to get a job with them! They also said that there are 10 hours of video posted every minute! I still can't believe that number. Man, YouTube is pretty popular. Not only in the USA or Canada, but the entire world. You couldn't watch every video on YouTube in your lifetime even if you tried. I really enjoyed the visit to YouTube and it's been the highlight of my west coast trip so far.
Well, the bus is leaving to the airport in 15 minutes and I don't want to be late. We're headed to Denver now and I don't want to leave the nice, warm weather. We still have 3 more games in another 6 days so I won't be home for a little while. To my people in the north, STAY WARM! |

It's Another Snowy Day In Toronto! |
|
Sunday, 09 March 2008 |
It's another snowy day in Toronto! I mean, seriously... I've never seen snow like this. I'm looking outside my window right now and I can barely see the ground from my condo. This is the most it's snowed since I've been out here and today some people were saying that it's the most in the past 15 years. It's seems like every time they clear the streets from the last snowstorm that hit, it snows again. It's nothing but ice and new snow on the sidewalks now. Oh well. I guess you have to take the bad with the good. As most of you probably know I'm out with a knee injury right now. It's been over a week and I'm struggling watching all of these games because I want to play really badly. This injury kind of came out of nowhere. I don't really know what movement caused it because I didn't have any sudden pain, it just started bothering me a couple of days after I had a little fall against Indiana. It's okay though, I know that things happen for a reason so I just have to play my cards right. That's the tough thing about sports sometimes, you get on a role and start playing well, then one thing happens and you're on the sidelines for a while. Another tough part of it is that people ask you everyday, "How does it feel?", "Are you okay?", "When are you coming back?", and that grows on you after a while. I don't know when I'm coming back and if i knew I would announce to everyone in the world, who cares, at the same time so they wouldn't have to ask me anymore. It's cool though, it's part of what I do. Other than that, the season's coming to the home stretch. I think we have like 22 games left in the last 6 weeks of the season so everything seems like it's going by fast. It seems like the season just started not too long ago. Since things are going by like they are, I've been thinking about the near future a lot. Now I'm not trying to look past any team or any of our games that are left, but i can't wait for the playoffs! I've been waiting since last year to get back at it because I don't think I played as well as I could have. I'm looking for some redemption because I've been thinking about it ever since it happened. I don't care who we play or where we start it off, I'm ready for a second crack at it. I think I'll handle myself a little better and play better too. |
