Viva Las Vegas, Packing For China, MGS is the hardest game! (Blog) |
|
Monday, 21 July 2008 |
I just got to Las Vegas today! Everybody gets in today for meetings and then we start practicing tomorrow. I'm hanging out with my brother right now. He just got done with summer league and he decided to stay an extra day so we could hang out. He didn't get the chance to play that much with the Raptors, so we're just going to have some fun.
Before I got here, I was having a lot of trouble packing because we're gonna be on the road for close to 5 weeks. They told us we could only bring two bags so I had to pack extremely neat. I did a good job though. Actually my girl did a good job because she packed for me. She's a neat freak and only one of my bags were overweight when I checked in at the airport so I've gotta give it to her. She did a better job than I could've done. I had to bring everything: shoes, clothes (and a lot of clothes), computer stuff, my xbox, medicine, toiletries.... Anything I could think of that I needed. |

I've been keeping up with all of the news stories and watching a little bit of TV since we came back from the National Team trip and I guess some things are coming to my realization. This stuff is huge! Every show on just about every channel is talking about us competing in the Olympics this summer. And the fact that we have LeBron and Kobe on the team has got the media having a field day with the different story possibilities. Seeing these stories made me think about some things.
Now... If you ask me who's the best team in the Olympics this summer, maybe I'm being biased, but I'm going to say the U.S.A. It doesn't matter who won the last competition or who's on the other teams, my answer is always going to be the same.
When I watch these t.v. shows now, it makes me laugh. Now don't get me wrong, I respect people in the media because I've worked for the media before, but when I watch some shows it's always the same every time. One guy loves something and the other guy hates it. It doesn't matter what the topic is.

New York City Getting Ready For Our Media Day With The U.S. National Team (Blog) |
|
Tuesday, 01 July 2008 |
It's 7am eastern time right now and I've been up since 6. I'm walking through a hotel lobby in New York City getting ready for our media day with the U.S. National Team. My day yesterday was so hectic I wanted to share it with everyone.
Yesterday we were in Las Vegas. We were scheduled to leave around noon, but as soon as we got on the plane they told us we'd be delayed two hours. To pass the time I played dominoes with Michael Redd and Teyshaun Prince so it wasn't that bad. 3 hours later we finally took off. We knew that when we landed we had to do an appearance as a team in Harlem because it was scheduled. While we were in the air the pilot came on the loud speaker again and told us we couldn't land on time. I had just woken up from a nap so I was bumed out to hear that we were delayed again. We made circles at 39,000 feet above Pennsylvania for about an hour and a half and then landed in New York around 11:15pm. |

Tomorrow's A Huge Day For The NBA (Blog) |
|
Wednesday, 25 June 2008 |
What's up everyone! Tomorrow's a huge day for the NBA. Especially for the Raptors. I'm actually in Toronto right now working out and taking care of some things at my house. I know that their are a lot of trade rumors with our team so guys are working around the clock in the head office right now.
I'm really excited to see what's going to happen in the next 24 hours. There are so many teams that are looking to make changes to improve their teams. And all of that mixed with the draft tomorrow night makes for a lot of excitement. I wish I could tell everyone what we're working on, but I can't do it. I'm sure you guys understand. It's only a day and a half left so just be patient.
I want to say thank you for everyone's support in regards with the U.S. National Team. I'm really proud to be representing my country in Beijing for the Olympics. I used to dream of this when I saw the Dream Team win it back in '92 so it's surreal for me. I can't wait to get everything going because it's always a lot of fun being around the other guys. I think we have a great chance.
Everyone from the team is getting together this weekend for an orientation and a couple of practices out in Vegas. I'm ready to get rolling! I might see some shows or something while I'm out there. I know I'm not going to hit the tables so you don't have to worry about that. Look out for us next month. We'll be playing Canada next month in Vegas in an exhibition and I'm sure it's going to be on TV.
I'll write something else after the draft is over. Until then, TTYL! |

Chris Bosh Adventures In Boston (Blog) |
|
Friday, 06 June 2008 |
With me being in Boston, I had the oppurtunity the check out the Red Sox play at the world famous Fenway Park last night. It was the craziest sports atmosphere that I've ever seen and I've been to some spectacular events. The reason I say that is because it was a cold and rainy Wednesday night against the Devil Rays, a non-rival team, and the place was packed!
Baseball teams play 162 games a year and this was probably around their 25th home game. There were people everywhere. Some people even buy tickets just to get in the stadium to watch the whole game standing up! They actually have a stand only section and people were I mean, it was one of 81 regular season games and there's not an empty seat in the house and people are standing. The whole stadium even sung a song in unison in the middle of the 8th inning. You had to be there to see and hear it. It was crazy!
I though I knew the true meaning of pride, but these Boston fans have showed me a new meaning. They even started chanting "BEAT LA" during the game.
Now I want to see a ball game at Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium and see what those place are like. Those are some classic ballparks and I'm pretty sure they have some big time pride as well.
I had a good time though. I ended up buying a Red Sox sweatshirt because I only had a short sleeve shirt so I hope my friends don't hold it against me. I didn't want to get sick.
Well... I'm in the Garden right now waiting to do the Leno show. Its about 4 hours before tip-off so I have a little bit of free time on my hands. If you ever get the chance, go to Fenway Park and check out a Sox game. You'll have a blast. |
