We Did It Olympic Gold (Blog)
Tuesday, 26 August 2008
It's finally over! And we did IT! Man! I've been dreaming about this since I first saw The Dream Team earn their medals back in 1992. I was only 8 years old, but I thought it was so cool and I wanted to be just like them. I always watched the Olympics as a little kid and it amazes me that I'm at this point where I am now.

This has been the biggest accomplishment of my career so far. It's such a great feeling because we worked so hard for all of these years and it's paid off for us. We started this thing in 2006 with dreams of a Gold Medal in Beijing and now we're to that point. Time flies so fast and I'm definitely going to take in this moment. It seems like it was yesterday when we were at the World Championships getting a Bronze medal. Now we have something better and we can put that behind us.

I have to give Spain all of my respect because they played an amazing game. They shot the ball extremely well and played some great defense. They were just plain hard to stop to be honest with you. They moved the ball well and they were very aggressive on both ends of the court. This was not the same team that we played in pool play.

It was funny because before the game, a lot of media kept asking if we thought it was going to be an easy game against them. That tripped me out because we knew it wasn't just going to be an easy game. If you beat a team once, they'll have motivation to play you even harder the second time around. Not to mention this game was for the GOLD MEDAL! All in all, they played well and I think that was one of the greatest International games in history.

We've Been In China For Over Two Weeks Now (Blog)
Wednesday, 13 August 2008
We've been in China for over two weeks now and so far, it's been a great trip. I've experience a lot of new things and cultures that I've never experienced before.  We've been playing pretty well in the exhibitions  and pool play and nowwe have the chance to redeem ourselves against Greece in a couple days. No one on our team has forgotten about the game they beat us in two years ago so I think it's going to be a great opportunity for us.

I want everyone to know if they ever get a chance to go to the Olympics, whether you're going to be a spectator or an athlete, you should go. It's been amazing! Everything from the Opening Ceremony to the sporting events to the different venues have been a spectacular. This is something special and I really feel that way when I see people stand on that podium to receive their Gold Medal. Every time I watch that, I get chills and I hope that I get that chance too.

13 Hour Flight, Macao Like Vegas, McDonalds In China! (Blog)
Monday, 28 July 2008
We just got to Macao after a 13 hour flight and an hour boat ride with plenty of waiting in between the two. The flight wasn't bad because I slept most of the way. If you ever fly to China, make sure your flight is as late as possible. Like me, you'll get some sleep and it will go by much faster.

The city of Macao is beautiful. They say it's like Las Vegas and to be honest it's kind of close, but there's nothing like Vegas. They have flashing lights and gambling (I don't like gambling anyway), but the building aren't as flamboyant and they really don't have a strip like Las Vegas Blvd.

Reflection On Las Vegas, CB4 And Dwight Go To The Circus? (Blog)
Saturday, 26 July 2008
I'm sitting in my room right now looking out of my window down at the strip of Las Vegas. The lights are bright and flashing. I look down at this great view that I have and I start thinking about how this past week has gone. So far it's been great. Practice is very intense and the whole team is getting along pretty well. The Select Team that was brought in has done a great job too. When it's all said and done I think they're roll in getting us ready for the big show. Hopefully they will be recognized for the sacrifice that they made.

The time has actually been passing by pretty fast. Me, Dwight and my girl went to go see a Cirque du Soliel show last night and it was great! I don't know who thinks up the outline and costumes, but they are very creative. Some of the stuff they were doing was amazing! Handstands, flips and all of that acrobatic stuff looks like it took a lot of practice and strength. That's a circus on a whole other level compared to the ones I've seen under the tent.

Viva Las Vegas, Packing For China, MGS is the hardest game! (Blog)
Monday, 21 July 2008
I just got to Las Vegas today! Everybody gets in today for meetings and then we start practicing tomorrow. I'm hanging out with my brother right now. He just got done with summer league and he decided to stay an extra day so we could hang out. He didn't get the chance to play that much with the Raptors, so we're just going to have some fun.

Before I got here, I was having a lot of trouble packing because we're gonna be on the road for close to 5 weeks. They told us we could only bring two bags so I had to pack extremely neat. I did a good job though. Actually my girl did a good job because she packed for me. She's a neat freak and only one of my bags were overweight when I checked in at the airport so I've gotta give it to her. She did a better job than I could've done. I had to bring everything: shoes, clothes (and a lot of clothes), computer stuff, my xbox, medicine, toiletries.... Anything I could think of that I needed.
