Last week I Decided To Go Down To Alabama State |
|
Wednesday, 06 February 2008 |
Last week I decided to go down to Alabama State and watch my brother play a live game. He had been wanting me to come and see him play for a while now so I came down and surprised him. We have a few days inbetween games, so I though, "why not?". When I walked into gym, he saw me and tripped out. The expression on his face was priceless! He's playing well right now and his team us up big so it's been a good trip so far.
I know all of the basketball fans of the world saw or heard of the big trade involving Pau Gasol. I think that's a great look for the Lakers. When Andrew Bynum comes back, they're going to have the longest, most athletic front court in the league. They have rebounding, shot blocking, shooters and the best 1 on 1 player in the league. Things are looking good for them this year and in the future too.
For all of my fellow business people/geeks, I was reading that Microsoft has recently offered to purchased Yahoo for around 45 billion dollars.... WOW! With that type of purchase being talked about, it seems like Microsoft has some kind of plan to compete with the guys at Google. Microsoft is mostly known for software and spreadsheets, but now they have a major search engine to potentially work with. Microsoft, Apple and Google are the big names when it comes to computer and the internet. Each of the 3 corporations seem to be slowly tapping into each others market and/or competing against each other (microsoft's purchase of yahoo [google], zune vs. IPOD, HTC touch vs. Iphone, leopard vs. vista, etc). Very interesting! |

We Had Our Annual Kingpin Bowling Event |
|
Tuesday, 29 January 2008 |
|
We had our Annual Kingpin Bowling event with the team this past Saturday. I was the defending champion and I successfully defended my title! I hadn't bowled in a while so it was a lot of fun to get back on the lanes. A couple of years ago I used to bowl often, but it's slowed down since then.
Joey Graham bowls a lot too and we used to hang out at bowling alleys. I might start it back up again one day.
I'm about to start getting back on XBOX Live too. I started playing Call of Duty 4 last night and it's kind of hard, but all games kind of start off like that. I feel that I have to play it because my brother bought it for Christmas for me. I haven't played Halo and Madden in a long time and that's very abnormal for me.
They recently announced the starters for the All-Star Game this past week. I think everyone who got voted in deserved it and they'll start the game off with a bang. There's a lot of greatness in that starting group. They're naming the reserves next week and I'm hoping I get named to the team. I'm also hoping that my backup point guard, Jose Calderon, gets a shot at it too. He's had a great season so far and it wouldn't surprise me if he got in. I don't think no one expected him to have the season that he's having right now. I would also like to thank everyone who voted for me for this year's All-Star Game. I thank everyone for watching my video too. I think it made a pretty significant difference in the outcome of my votes so I just want to thank everyone.
P.S. I'm starting the first phase in shooting my new video. Wish me luck! |

NFL Weekend + Cloverfield |
|
Monday, 21 January 2008 |
|
Well, this weekend is Championship Sunday for football and as everyone knows the Cowboys aren't playing. I was really looking forward to the Cowboys making the Super Bowl this year and getting another shot at the title. I've been a Cowboys fan since the Troy Aikman, Micheal Irvin and Emmitt Smith days. Last weeks game against the Giants hurt me, but life goes on. I'm sure this weekends games will be exciting.
Cloverfield finally came out this weekend too! I've been waiting to see that movie since I saw its previews this past summer. All I remember is the Statue of Liberty head being thrown off. It drove me nuts because that's all they showed and then said it was coming out in January, which was still 6 months away at the time. I'll probably go to the movies after the weekend. The theaters are packed during at that time so it's a little tough moving around in there for me.
As far as basketball in concerned, things are good. We played Atlanta tonight and won and I played a pretty good game. We have a tough one against Philly tom morrow so I hope we can keep it rolling. It's always fun winning games and I feel it's our time now to really make a push.
I have to make sure all of the guys stay focused and we keep up the good work.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a great Holiday season, I know I did.
Well, it's been about a week since I put up my commercial for the All-Star game voting. I can't believe the reaction that has come from it. When I had the idea, I knew it was going to be very funny, but I didn't think that everyone would like it. It's crazy! I've seen the commercial on Sportscenter, PTI, Cold Pizza, and Inside the NBA on TNT.
The funny thing about it was that my family told me that it was gonna be on TV. I really didn't believe them, I just wanted to do something fun. I didn't have any intention of the commercial making it to TV, I just wanted it to be popular on the web. I hadn't seen it done before from anyone else so I was really excited about doing something innovative. |

We're Still On The West Coast |
|
Sunday, 23 December 2007 |
|
We're still on the west coast and Christmas is only days away. We recently played the Blazers and it was a tough game for us, but I won't get into that. I like to put tough loses behind me anyway.
I'm sure you guys have heard of LaMarcus Aldridge. Well... I've known LaMarcus since he was in the 9th grade. It's so funny to see him in the NBA and remember us still going at it back in the day, trying to win basketball games. We played each other in High School plenty of times and my team won on every occasion, but LaMarcus always played well. The funny thing about the whole situation is that his high school head coach (Robert Allen), was my coach in my 9th grade year. He always used to compare the two of us because we both had a lot of potential and we were both as tall as anyone in the Dallas area.
I know Coach Allen was watching the game we played against the Blazers the other day and I know he enjoyed it. Seeing two young guys, whom he played a vital role with, playing in the NBA against each other. It's great to see another guy from Dallas make it and live his dream.
