New York City Getting Ready For Our Media Day With The U.S. National Team (Blog) |
It's 7am eastern time right now and I've been up since 6. I'm walking through a hotel lobby in New York City getting ready for our media day with the U.S. National Team. My day yesterday was so hectic I wanted to share it with everyone.
Yesterday we were in Las Vegas. We were scheduled to leave around noon, but as soon as we got on the plane they told us we'd be delayed two hours. To pass the time I played dominoes with Michael Redd and Teyshaun Prince so it wasn't that bad. 3 hours later we finally took off. We knew that when we landed we had to do an appearance as a team in Harlem because it was scheduled. While we were in the air the pilot came on the loud speaker again and told us we couldn't land on time. I had just woken up from a nap so I was bumed out to hear that we were delayed again. We made circles at 39,000 feet above Pennsylvania for about an hour and a half and then landed in New York around 11:15pm.
After we landed we headed to Harlem (which was about a 45 minute ride) to a Nike exhibit honoring our team. It was very nice and I'm glad we went despite the long plane ride. After all of that we got back to the hotel around 1:30am. After I unpacked the things that I needed I went to be at about 2am and had a wake up call for 6. Now I'm up and hyped! I'm doing all of my interviews now and we're're going to the Statue of Libery for a photo opp. with the team later on today. After that I'm flying back home to Dallas. I don't know where eating and sleeping fits in todays schedule, but I'll fit it in some way. Maybe this will paint a picture of how days with the U.S. National Team are. Its wearing me out, but the show must go on! |
