I've been keeping up with all of the news stories and watching a little bit of TV since we came back from the National Team trip and I guess some things are coming to my realization. This stuff is huge! Every show on just about every channel is talking about us competing in the Olympics this summer. And the fact that we have LeBron and Kobe on the team has got the media having a field day with the different story possibilities. Seeing these stories made me think about some things.
Now... If you ask me who's the best team in the Olympics this summer, maybe I'm being biased, but I'm going to say the U.S.A. It doesn't matter who won the last competition or who's on the other teams, my answer is always going to be the same.
When I watch these t.v. shows now, it makes me laugh. Now don't get me wrong, I respect people in the media because I've worked for the media before, but when I watch some shows it's always the same every time. One guy loves something and the other guy hates it. It doesn't matter what the topic is.
Even with us on the national team, some guys will find a way to be negative. I'd bet some money that reporters on t.v. in Spain are not saying one bad thing about their national team that's in the Olympics. Why is it like that with Americans? Especially at a point when our team is trying to bring back the prestige and dominance of United States. Why should we be so negative? This is a big deal and in my opinion, every American should root for every sport being represented by the U.S.A. in Beijing. This only comes once every four years and I think this is bigger than any negative story that we can read or watch any other day out of the year. From Ping Pong to Basketball, let's support and root for our country. GO USA!!!!!!!!!!! |
